titan300The Norris School District The 2017-18 enrollment is 2,381 preschool through twelfth grade. The district has had perennial increases in enrollment and the combination of small-town communities with close proximity to the larger Lincoln metropolitan area has created a demand for housing and substantial residential development in the Norris School District.

The Norris School District is recognized as a Google Reference District for effective use of technology in the classroom. Norris is district-accredited through AdvancED and is a member of the Eastern Midlands Conference. Norris students exceed state and national averages on the ACT in all subtest and composite scores, and for 2016-17, 81% of Norris students met the college-ready benchmark ACT score for English and 64% for Mathematics, substantially exceeding state and national rates. Over half of Norris HS juniors and almost three-fourths of seniors are are taking college and dual-credit coursework. The district also has strong participation in SENCAP, the Southeast Nebraska Career Academy Program affiliated with SCC.

The school district is divided into six wards which each represent a roughly comparable number of constituents. The Norris School District is primarily rural residential acreages, small towns including the fastest-growing municipality in Nebraska (Hickman, NE), and agricultural in nature with many farming operations. Many Norris residents are employed in Lincoln. As the Lincoln area grows to the south and east, the population of the Norris District continues to increase steadily.

The Norris School system is organized on a unified campus to include pre-K-2 (Elementary), 3-5 (Intermediate), 6-8 (Middle) and, 9-12 (High School) basis and complementary activities facilities and district operations.
